Alcohol-Free Drinks: Wisconsin-Based Kombucha Brands

I appreciate kombucha as a non-alcoholic beverage that I’m happy to order when I see it on a menu, especially if it’s carbonated. As a non-drinker, finding alcohol-free kombucha available is an exciting find. Today, I’m sharing six Wisconsin-based kombucha brands for you to try out this year, most of which I have tried myself as well.

Soul Brew Kombucha

Soul Brew is Wisconsin’s 1st black woman-owned kombucha tea company and has been crafting kombucha for over five years in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

With a health-focused mission, Soul Brew is diabetic-friendly, championing the purpose of “creating culture for better health.”

Personally, I love to see this. A common complaint I hear from customers, as someone who has worked in the NA industry for 4+ years, is that many non-alcoholic drinks have too much sugar. Many people switch to a mindful or alcohol-free lifestyle in pursuit of wellness, so it makes sense that what we’re drinking is health-conscious.

Find refreshing flavors like Cherry Bomb, Cranny-Apple, BLM (blackberry, lemon, mango), and more from Soul Brew.

NessAlla Kombucha

NessAlla’s brewery was one of the first craft kombucha producers in the nation and is entirely woman-owned, founded in Madison, Wisconsin.

Did you know they use custom Rishi Tea blends!? Rishi is a Wisconsin tea and botanical brand, and those blends help NessAlla create layered flavors and premium booch.

NessAlla takes pride in using natural ingredients, being eco-friendly, made fresh, and one with the community in Wisco and beyond. Try flavors like Blueberry Mint Smash, Tropical Colada, Peach Blush, and more in 12oz cans and 16oz bottles.

Living Full Kombucha

Living Full Kombucha is a Wisconsin-based business with a lovely taproom & mocktail bar near the Wisconsin border in Winthrop Harbor, Illinois. They are “Lake County’s first kombucha taproom and mocktail bar whose mission is to bring a community together that values “LIVING FULL.”

The taproom features eight rotating taps and thoughtful, adaptogenic plant-based mocktails for kombucha lovers, mindful drinkers, and sober-curious visitors to enjoy.

Living Full also makes drinking shrubs - a “fermented non-alcoholic syrup made by combining fruit, raw apple, cider vinegar, sugar, and often herbs.”

Try their signature bottled kombucha flavors such as Dreamer (butterfly pea, ginger) or Witty (grapefruit, rosemary).

Tapuat Kombucha

Based in Sister Bay, Wisconsin, Tapuat has been brewing kombucha in the Midwest for nearly 10 years.

Explore unique flavors like Floramour, Hibiscus Mint, Pear, and many more. You can find Tapuat on tap and in stores all around Wisco.

Forage Kombucha

Forage is a Madison, Wisconsin-based business not only brewing kombucha but running a kitchen as well. Their canned booch is made with high-quality, organic ingredients naturally low in sugar and acidity. The Forage mission is to “scour our big, wild world for exhilarating flavors and nutritious ingredients to create kombucha that rethinks stale ideas about healthy eating.”

You’ll find their floral-esque cans all over Wisconsin and beyond with flavors such as Tropical, Peach, Raspberry, Blackberry Grape, and more. I have tried the tropical and peach blends, and enjoyed both!

rmbr Kombucha

rmbr, “standing for Real Memories. Better Rituals, encapsulates our commitment to normalizing the consumption of healthy non-alcoholic beverages in social settings.” This kombucha brand is based in Illinois, but produced in and available all over Wisconsin. I am personally obsessed with their non-alc-focused mission and gorgeous packaging.

Check out their fun and functional flavor offerings such as Flow for creativity, Rose Petal Berry for calm, Hibiscus Ginger for digestion, or Tumeric Tango to soothe.
